Peloton Utilises Qualtrics and SAP SuccessFactors in HR Transformation – Inside SAP Magazine

Among these organisations that have adjusted their strategies to fit the changing business environment and respond to the massive shift in employee engagement in the workplace is Peloton, a company that offers products and services ranging from exercise equipment to integrated software and custom-built live production studios. Headquartered in New York City, the firm has grown to over 8,000 global team members — doubling its workforce in the past year — and continues to expand its retail showrooms across the US, UK, Germany, Canada, and Australia.
Peloton’s story of driving experience transformation in the fitness world was highlighted during Qualtrics’ Q3 earnings conference call. With an emphasis on constant innovation to support the company’s growth and a commitment to providing meaningful experiences to its members, Peloton standardised its processes using Qualtrics as its Experience Management (XM) platform.
“With Qualtrics, Peloton is putting the member experience at the centre of their business, listening to their community across every touchpoint and sharing feedback across the entire company to drive their strategic priorities and improve the member journey at every turn,” Qualtrics stated in the press release.
Aside from being a longtime customer of SAP-owned Qualtrics, Peloton also leverages solutions from SAP SuccessFactors to support the growth of its employee base. During a session at the 2021 SuccessConnect: Let’s Change Work for Good event, Shari Eaton, Senior Vice President and Global Head of People at Peloton, and Cassidy Rouse, Global General Manager of Corporate Wellness at Peloton, discussed how the organisation had to scale up rapidly to continue to innovate and meet the needs of its employees.
According to Eaton, the company’s strategy is centered on scaling operations particularly in the aspects of onboarding, manager training, the candidate experience, as well as continuously supporting the growing Shared Services and People Business Partner Team. To ensure that data was accurate and centrally managed, Peloton initially focused on job architecture and implemented the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central module — a solution that intends to standardise HR processes with a flexible, cloud-based human resource information system (HRIS).
Meanwhile, the ATS (Applicant Tracking System) integration also allowed the company’s recruiting processes to scale and the compensation tool in SAP SuccessFactors helped decrease the number of manual tasks in compensation management. Eaton further detailed:
“In addition to these enhancements, we’ve launched the new Talent (Management) module to enable our team members to capture their ongoing feedback and coaching between them and their leaders. This will ultimately allow us to decrease dependencies on additional ad hoc tools, which we’re super excited about.”
Moreover, SAP also expanded its collaboration with Peloton in June after being announced as one of the first organisations partnering with Peloton Corporate Wellness. The program aims to drive employee engagement retention by providing subsidised access to Peloton subscriptions, all-access memberships, and connected fitness products while positively impacting the overall health and wellbeing of individuals, according to Rouse.
“We’ve enjoyed working with SAP as a launch partner and have been really impressed with the level of dedication to making it successful to all employees. Hundreds of people have already signed up and I think we have over 500 people on the SAP tag #LifeatSAP join up,” Rouse stated.
