Play games, share moments with friends, and earn Trophies for shared community rewards.
We’re pleased to announce Seize the Throne, an exciting new community challenge that draws inspiration from our new global brand spot. Our aim is to spotlight the power of play, which unites us through unforgettable moments and bold new experiences.
This special event calls on players to join together in a chess-themed celebration.* By playing together to complete three Stages of Community Goals, players can reach the King’s Tower, access the Inner Chambers, and breach the Throne Room — earning exclusive PSN avatars and a one-of-a-kind PS4 theme along the way.**
Eligible players from participating countries will also compete to win grand prizes by testing their PlayStation knowledge in a series of challenging trivia questions. Available grand prizes include a PlayStation 5 console, the King’s PlayStation Shapes Ring Set, and a bundle featuring a Pulse 3D Wireless Headset as well as a PlayStation Store digital gift card ($100 USD or equivalent provided in local currency).***
Registrations begin now and will remain open until the end of Stage Two. The first part of the competition ends when the community completes all three Stages to seize the throne, or until November 16th (whichever comes first). Here are the steps to participate:
Register with your PSN Sign-In ID here. Once signed up, players will be automatically entered into all future Stages of the program and the question round.
The event is open to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users in the following locations: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, and the United States. Please note: players from Brazil, Italy and Japan cannot take part in the question round of Seize the Throne.
There are three Stages throughout the event, with the first Stage kicking off on November 2. Each Stage will require players to complete the following activities to earn points and achieve the Community Goal for each Stage:
Here’s a breakdown of the points you can earn for each activity:
Everyone who signs up can earn exclusive avatar and theme rewards when the Community hits a Goal. The rewards will be delivered directly to players’ PS4/PS5 consoles via system notification approximately 2 days after each Stage is completed.
By signing up, eligible players can compete to win grand prizes, which include a PlayStation 5 console, the King’s PlayStation Shapes Ring Set, and a bundle featuring a Pulse 3D Wireless Headset and a PlayStation Store digital gift card worth $100 USD. Players need to answer a series of three questions that will be posted on playstation.com/seize-the-throne between November 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM PDT / 1:00 PM EDT and November 18, 2021 at 11:59 PM PDT. See Official Rules for details.

Honestly, tho. Bring themes to PS5.
Seriously. Why are we still not able to switch themes yet?
Hopefully in 2022.
Winning a PS5 is losing. They should offer a 3000-series graphic card.
ratio
I did not receive the extra avatars etc from the last event 😢 and I did all all the requirements 🙏
Trippin
meh
We bought the console too, why don’t we have this event like other countries??
@liozkw – You probably need to look for any local laws that make something like this illegal somehow. They don’t block countries from events like this because they don’t like you, they block countries because the giveaway would run afoul of some law against gambling, or because it would trigger excessive tax costs, or something like that.
Bro ps5 are so rare to be found right now 35…..per person and there is millions of players signing up for this why put 100 available ps5 and 1 per person
just a reminder, the PS5 is a success in sales. 14 millions PS5 sold in just one year, it’s better than the PS4 (10 millions in the first year). So yeah, it’s hard to find, but for Sony, it’s way better and there are more players.
@Khaliel you know these are scalpers
How do I know if I am registered? There is nothing confirming the registration. There is no email sent or some kind of message on the site to confirm it.
I was already logged in. Just clicked on register here, which sent me to another page saying to log in and nothing happend.
I pressed the link in sign up, scrolled to how it works and clicked sign up here, I’m now linked and ready to go.
After signed up it tells you further how to gain points and where they are so far.. first stage is apparently zero
Thank you. I’ve done as you said, and I believe it worked.
Can we register yet? Cause when I click the link while logged in it has nothing else to there to press am I already registered?
Check the countries…
Sounds stupid but log out and in again while on the sign up page
Can’t wait to participate. Even if I don’t get a grand prize this should be fun! 😀
We don’t care ! Officialize the november PS+ games list!
Sorry, but that’s not global event… Every year the event is only for some specific countries, what about others ? Do we have some country laws that forbid the event ?
“global”
Yeah boy
I hope we win the theme!
Really wish I could get that theme for my PS5 instead, but this will be fun!
Yeah I think Sony should make an update for the PS5 where we can customise the PS5 UI.
Agreed. A cool way to tie a community competition and rewards into their latest marketing. Just wish that the coolest tier 3 prize wasn’t limited to their last-gen console! A strange choice. Still, a meta game and some giveaways is really nothing for people to start getting annoyed over!
Why you say Global but GREECE IS NOT INCLUDED
Strange considering one of their franchises “God Of War” takes place in Greek mythology ( yeah the old one because the new one is Norse but still).
Very “GLOBAL” I would say. The PS is good but the way “GLOBAL” people are cherished is just ridiculous. The PS website has become unbearable, there are no avatars, no themes for PS5 and cutting ties with PS3 is just ugly. And of course the geo locked smart phone app.
Good way to celebrate and push the idea how global this all is….
Brasil is not included too
Great, my country is not included and your site wouldn’t let me sign up for the previous one on three different browsers across desktop and mobile. Suddenly it feels like playstation and their events went back in time to 2007 or something.
Need PS5 themes
Here it is folks, your best chance of getting your hands on a PS5 before 2025!
Ah yes, the faces of PC’s newest video game heroes.
When can you sign up for it
does anyone know how to know that you’re signed up? every time click on sign up im redirected to pick my region and when I do that it just sends me to the playstation sight? Help would be greatly appreciated!
Try scrolling way to the bottom of the page.
Right after the ‘grand prizes’ section, use the ‘sign up’ button that is below it.
It was the only way it worked for me.
Habrá alguien q’ Obsequie un Boleto solo de Ida para cualquier País (CANADA xD) y poder salir de Venezuela y así participar. hahaha
Wow 3 pc games
“Global” no Puerto Rico 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️
3 Ex-clusives on the top… Nice touch, Jim Greed Ryan.
Yes please bring themes to ps5!!
Just offer a PC already, because your platform is irrelevant now.
Jim Lyin: “We believe in generations.” “Exclusives are still important to us.”
Hermen: “Horizon on PC is a special case, not everything is going to PC.”
Disgraceful liars.
Salty fanboy
No thanks.

I already have a ps5 what I really want is more storage for my ps5. A ssd external drive cost alot of money at the moment.
Same here. But the prices for 1TB compatible SSDs have dropped to around $150. They were at $250 not long ago. Just give it time. They’re still cutting-edge technology.

Yeah Man bring themes back for the Ps5 n make them phenomenal show the Beauty n Life of the Ps5 n animation avatars would be amazing! There’s so much more That I know that would be outstanding… The future is now.
People should appreciate the fact that Sony doing community challenges and rewards program for PlayStation community instead complaining and being salty over porting from console into PC. Just enjoy receiving free avatars and theme.
@non-csports always complains about PC ports and he is such salty fanboy. I want to see these kinds of fans like you.
acredito que estão reclamando mas por conta, de outros fatores justificáveis aumentos de preço, qualidade baixa da plus e etc.
I guess this is cool if you are a fan of 1st party games but there is no incentive to go rushing through my monthly J-rpg list to get some lame GOW or Horizon avatars.
I hope there will no more “PLAYSTATION CROSSOVER” with the stupid game of fortnite (stop wasting your money on a dirty cosmetic and they’re nothing else)
Sad thing the event is only for +18 people not even teenagers or kids ( +10 ) can’t participate or can’t get the PSN avatars and the PS4 theme, even the last event of Days of Play back in May, so sad. 😢😭
Russia but not Ukraine, wow, great, thanks guys, appreciate it!
No India. Global event?
What about players in UAE?
Why you dont consider them?
This is Not fair
This is Not good
Oh my god
All of these contries also are Not include?
Nice
Thank you . Signed up 😍
Let’s go ….
Bring Serbia to this stuff and official support!
Seemed to be bugged for me. I signed up and the page told me that I am on board. But when I want to take a look on the progress, I have to sign up again. No matter how many times I try. Can you guys see the progress?
Why is it always in these events Saudi Arabia is the only eligible country from Middle east!?
Have the points been racked up yet? The meter is still blank.
According to the FAQs, It says that “The goal tracker will be updated approximately once a day (excluding weekends).” which means they’re most likely updating it manually.
“Global” yet not available in Romania…
“Global”…
I am not sure if it is a problem on my side or your side but nothing is happening for me. No points are appearing and I have no idea if I am even a part of the event (signed up multiple times). This seems poorly designed
It doesn’t start until November 2nd.
What time does the event start?
Did some research. For anyone wondering the start time, it will be 00:01 Pacific Time.
so starts in 2 minutes? for all time zones ty good person. though where you found that info i have no clue. i was unable to find it
Where’s INDIA 🇮🇳 & I Can’t Buy PS5 Here I’ve Only PS4 Slim & I Wanted To Play And Wanted To Win PS5 😭

Artists Show Off Slick Concept for Xbox Series X Elite Console – GameRant

Published

on

The Xbox Series X will inevitably receive an updated model, and one creator shows off their design of what it may just look like.
The Xbox Series X is the current flagship console for Microsoft, and one of the most powerful consoles ever made. Like previous generations, the Xbox Series X is bound to receive a sleeker new model, perhaps even with upgraded specs, and one content creator has shared what they think it may look like.
When Microsoft revealed the Xbox Series X in 2019, its design was attention grabbing, and some might say for the wrong reasons. There is nothing outwardly strange or offensive about the design, but its size, shape, and color immediately saw comparisons between the Xbox Series X and refrigerators. Micosoft saw this as a great marketing opportunity, however, releasing an offical Xbox Series X mini-fridge that has quickly sold out practically everywhere. With the last generation of consoles, Microsoft released the Xbox One S and Xbox One X towards the end of the Xbox One's lifecycle.
RELATED: Microsoft Discontinuing Production on Xbox One X Consoles
A YouTuber by the name of Concept Creator has designed a mock-up of what the next Xbox Series X console variant may look like. Originally covered by Ilse Jurrien of LetsGoDigital, graphic designer Jermaine Smit of Concept Creator trims away the fat of the original Xbox Series X design, making it much more slender, sleeker, and recognizable, thanks to some key implementations. Size-wise, the Xbox Series X Elite, as Jurrien is calling it, evokes the jump from the Xbox One to the Xbox One X but to a much higher degree, with the Elite nearly shrinking the original Series X in half. The most eye-catching change of the Elite is the sharp, raised cross-piece that cuts across the top and front of the console, with LEDs that glow Xbox green on both sides.
Despite the additions, many of the key Xbox Series X design features are retained in the Elite's mock-up. On the left side of the console is the disc-tray, power button, and four USB ports that appear smoothly chiseled out of the console's body. Likewise, the signature venting that appears on the top of the original Xbox Series X returns on the right portions of the Elite, providing a nice blend of textures that dissuade easy comparisons to DVR boxes. Concept Creator's Xbox Series X Elite design also has a white variant, channeling the design of the Xbox Series S, the original console's little sister.
As it stands, not much (if anything) is known about the next iteration of the Xbox Series X. Microsoft's next family of consoles have been out for over a year, and while the Xbox Series S sold very well during Black Friday this year, still not everyone who desires one of these systems has been able to get one yet. With that in mind, while it is fun to think about the future of these systems and what they may look like, Microsoft's priority should still be in making its current lineup more available. Unless the Xbox Series X Elite magically doesn't require microchips, it will likely fall into the same issues as the current console lineup.

Sony's wild new PS5 controller concept could be a game-changer – Creative Bloq

(Quite literally.)
It’s fair to say we weren’t enamoured with the design of Sony’s DualSense controller when it was revealed last year. Like the PS5 itself, the controller is somewhat, er, chonky – but it seems Sony is already working on slimmer design concepts.
A new patent filing reveals the company is working on a new controller design featuring a collapsible control stick. This means the joystick could retract into the body of the controller itself, allowing for a more svelte (and potentially more comfortable) design. And while it might just be a patent, at this rate it might well arrive before the next PS5 restock
PS5 patent
The patent filing itself offers little in the way of information about how the controller will work, simply describing: “A controller, thumbstick, or system comprising a thumbstick body, a thumbstick shaft coupled to the thumbstick body wherein the thumbstick shaft is configured to retract into the thumbstick body and wherein the thumbstick body and the thumbstick shaft is freely rotatable together around a pivot centre within the controller body.” (You know when you read a word so many times that it loses all meaning? Yeah, thumbstick.)
But it seems the concept is all about comfort. “Analog nubs are portable but also very uncomfortable for the user,” Sony says in the filing. “The user moves the flat surface or rough area with pressure from their thumb. This can become quite uncomfortable after a while because the required friction between the user’s thumb and the surface.”
As with all patents, whether this design will ever see the light of day remains to be seen, but it’s certainly intriguing – and we can’t help but wonder if it’s offering us a glimpse of the next generation of DualSense. If a PS5 ‘Slim’ ever makes it to market (hey, every PlayStation generation has had one), perhaps it’ll arrive complete with a redesigned controller?
PS5 DualSense controller black
Indeed, a collapsible thumbstick could potentially transform the feel of the controller for gamers, offering a much more personalised and therefore comfortable experience. And it could do wonders for storage too – perhaps we’ll even end up with some kind of ‘DualSense Slim’ charging case. And we’re sure it could look pretty cool – better than that horrendous McDonald’s DualSense concept anyway.
It seems Sony is finally ready to give gamers more options when it comes to the look of the PS5. From those new coloured faceplates to rumours of a console redesign, the days of being restricted to Sony’s reverse-oreo (sorry, white-on-black) design are coming to an end. And perhaps in the near future, we’ll have a brand new controller to enjoy too. Want to start gaming right now? Check out today’s best games console deals below.
