Subscribers can access a catalog of 90 million songs, playlists from their own library, and curated gaming playlists.
For those of you who love listening to music in addition to playing games, we are pleased to announce that Apple Music is launching on PS5 – the first gaming console to introduce an integrated Apple Music experience, bringing their expansive music catalog to PS5 players globally.
Starting today, PS5 users with an Apple Music subscription can enjoy more than 90 million songs from Apple Music, tens of thousands of curated playlists, music videos in 4K, Apple Music Radio streaming today’s hits, classics, and country live, and personalized playlists based on your music preferences.
PS5 offers seamless integration with the Apple Music streaming service with background music and music video playback, so players can listen before, during, or after their gameplay session.
PS5 users can either start the Apple Music app before hopping into a game, or during gameplay by pressing the PS button on the DualSense wireless controller to access the Control Center and select the Music Function card.
From there, Apple Music subscribers can find recommendations that match the game they are currently playing, or choose from a playlist in their library or other Apple Music-curated playlists for gaming.
Apple Music subscribers can also find and watch music videos from a wide selection of artists in the Apple Music app. Start by playing the video in full screen; if you decide you want to go back to your gameplay or navigate elsewhere on the PS5’s home screen, the audio from the music video will continue to play. If you want to go back to the music video, it’ll also pick up seamlessly from wherever you are in the song, with no interruption to the music. We hope you enjoy Apple Music on PS5. To get started, PS5 owners can download the Apple Music app from the Media space on PS5, and follow the on-screen instructions to link their Apple Music account. Yes please, and thank you! I’m so happy to hear this officially announced! Spotify shouldn’t be the only option out there for stuff like this, and I’m so happy to see that’s no longer the case. This is great news!
Also great to see that Apple Music Radio, recommended moods/playlists, etc. are all present in addition to the full library & personal music selections.
I can imagine having a driving game and putting on Apple Music Radio and having it be like driving around & listening to the radio.
So happy for this! Next make the AirPods work and we are gold
Don’t AirPods work as long as you get a bluetooth audio adapter (use the case to enter bluetooth pairing mode for the AirPods and then connect with the adapter plugged into the PS5)?
It sure would be nice if the PS5 provided that without needing an adapter, though (unnecessary cost, complexity, and use of a USB port.) I mean, the Switch eventually added it via software, right? I don’t see why this couldn’t be any different at some point here.
From what I understand the adapter are for latency. There is a warning on the Switch when you pair a Bluetooth headset that they my be out of sync.
Will Dolby Atmos/Spatial audio be supported?
Good point! Lossless and spatial would be great to have, and I don’t see any reason why it couldn’t.
I just want Dolby Atmos support for my in game audio with my surround system. Not just for playing movies.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for DLNA support (a la the PS4 Media Player) one day, but hey this is good too for the folks that use Apple Music. Options are good!
That’s awesome for Apple music subscribers!! I’m hoping we also get Google Play/YouTube music as well. Always nice to have more options 😉
+1…YouTube Music next please!!
This, YouTube Music!!
It sure would be nice if they include Apple Podcasts at some point in the future (or possibly some other separate podcast app), but I can totally understand why it was done this way (it’s a separate app & service and would simply be a separate task to maybe do after this.) Again, I’m thinking about a driving game or something where listening to podcasts can be just as common (if not more so sometimes) as listening to music. This is still great to have Apple Music & why they’d go about this as the focus.
Does this Apple Music app include support for your actual own iTunes/music library? I don’t see that specifically mentioned anywhere in the article. On the Google Play Store, the Apple Music app *only* works with an active Apple Music subscription; there is no way to access any music you’ve purchased outright in your library on it. At first glance, this article is sort of making the PS5 app sound the same way…
I had the same thought as you, wanting to access my own iTunes music library. The article implies to me that this is for paid subscriptions only for their streaming service, unfortunately. Hope that isn’t the case, but I doubt it.
That’s definitely something Apple should address (both on Android & this also, if its the case) since many have a catalog of iTunes Store music that might as well be playable since it’s been paid for (and honestly part of one of their very related services.)
I was thinking this was a case where iTunes Match and/or Apple Music’s iCloud Music Library would then make any arbitrary audio file accessible across devices (in addition to the Apple Music subscription’s library), but to also then not hav past iTunes Store purchases not available either…? That does seem like a lacking implementation (while not outright unusable… it is disappointing given it seems like something that doesn’t need to be the case.)
I wonder if it’s a licensing issue where they don’t want to manage authorizing devices that aren’t from Apple… but Windows has its app able to be authorized so these recent 3rd party apps do seem like they’re incomplete implementations.
Okay, I’m seeing my “Purchased Music” auto-generated playlist in the app on PS5 and it definitely has music I purchased via iTunes in there.
However, this is the case as an active Apple Music subscriber. Not sure what would happen for someone that doesn’t have an active subscription & just has previously purchased iTunes Store music.
Common sony Win
Yes! This a great addition for PS5. Gonna definitely be trying this out today.
Ok, so where’s YouTube Music integration as well?
I hope YouTube Music will be added to PS5 very soon. 🙏🏻
Yeah I need YouTube Music integration. That’s what I use with YouTube premium. So it would be perfect if that worked
This, YouTube Music!!
I agree. I need YouTube Music.
When are you guys gonna add discord though?
Oh yeah, definitely looking forward to this previously announced (being an investor & everything) addition to become available, too.
If I remember correctly Discord integration for PlayStation 5 will come sometime in 2022.
like we need another program with a whole new invite list. discord on pc is already a trashfire. it’s just the flavor of the month voip.
Very nice… as an Apple and Sony customer I’m looking forward to this!
Agreed, this is a prefect paring for me as well.
No thanks, Apple SUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKKS.
I’m getting audio clipping issues when playing games with Apple Music in the background. Does not happen with Spotify
Has anyone figured out how to switch the music tab in the control centre between Apple Music and Spotify? Currently you can only have one of them there. I have Spotify linked too so Apple Music won’t show up.
Have you downloaded apple music? Im trying and it says error
Been waiting for this for a while now!
Cool, now lets get YouTube music support. I don’t want to pay for another service just so I can listen to music while playing a game.
This, add YouTube Music!!!
Please bring YouTube Music to PlayStation 5. 🙏🏻 I want to take advantage of my YouTube Music subscription on my PlayStation 5.
Now do 1440p and ultrawide support pls 🙂
Now can we just get an Apple TV app please.
That already exists. They even announced a thing a while back saying you get free months of Apple TV+ when first using the app to help promote it.
Maybe YouTube music in the future?
This right here!!
More useless and overpriced junk – Apple.
Literally only $10 a month buddy. Instead of assuming try looking it up. I pay $20 for a family bundle which comes with apple tv, music, and arcade
Literally only Apple, no-buddy. It’s not my fault you like junk.
Editor note: please proofread thoroughly. There’s a missing space contained in the final paragraph that contains the link.
This is dope to see but why just ps5 only, at least make it accessible for ps4 users as well
YouTube music next?👍👍
Can’t even download it. An error keeps popping up. Alredy tried restarting and turning off my PS5
I wonder if we gonna have a web browser for the PlayStation 5 so we can browse on the internet. Just like the previous console of PlayStation since PS3.
I see your Filipino? I am too! To answer your question padae no there is no direct web browser, but if you send a link such as google to a friend you can click the link and get in the browser. They let you half the browser while you are in game and it allows you to see walk through guide on screen. I hope this helped. Enjoy!
Sweet!!! Now I can select exactly what I want to hear while playing games! I don’t have a Spotify Sub but I do have Apple Music! definitely creating more playlists on Apple Music now.
I found something out about spotify. Lets say you have premium and it expires. Well spotify on your phone will not let you select specific songs or go backwards, but spotify allows you to select specific songs and use the back button eventhough your subscription expired. Enjoy!
This is great! But please please pleaseee bring it to PS4? I reallyyy want to use my Apple Music subscription while playing games, and i’ll get a PS5 eventually, but I don’t wanna have to wait til it’s in stock!
YouTube Music please
Yes i agree
And please make more PS5s. I’ve been trying to buy one for ages but they’re like unicorns, maybe don’t actually exist. I had one in my Amazon cart today but it disappeared. Dang it!
i know this is currently unavailable for PS4 but does anyone think it will be at some point? i have a PS5 but cannot always use it
I really look forward to trying it out since i just picked up a iphone.i so happen to have the ps5 so why not right lol’
i got a question, can we control what we’re playing thru other devices such as pc/mobile device? As we did with spotify where we could choose what was playing thru the app.
Is there any chance that this is going to be an added feature to the PS4? Since the PS5 is still hard to come by I’d thought that they would add this support to the PS4 as well. What a shame.
Is there any chance Tidal can be added too? Also, for PS4 too. Sony marketing team can’t neglect that system just yet. There are many dedicated gamers who have not had any luck in finding a PS5.
Yeeesss finally thank you! Now pls do SoundCloud next. There’s a lot of songs on SoundCloud that’s only available on there and not on other apps. A lot of underground artists are on that platform. Adding SoundCloud on consoles would be another great way to support them!
I’m looking forward to this!!!!
Nice! Apple Music support was sorely lacking in the previous generation.
How much is it exactly? Im guessing you must have apple music already?
Where is YouTube Music though? I HATE having to pay another fee on top of PS Plus just to enjoy my favorite tunes while playing a game!
Can we get Apple music for PS4
Is it coming to ps4 or is it only ps5???
I don’t use any apple products. How about support for Qobuz !!! 24-bit lossless support please! Atmos even better!
Dude get a grip, youre talking about a technology platform this is a service.
Downloaded, logged in, went to my Library, played the first song in the ‘recently added’ playlist.
Instant app crash.
Haven’t read all the comments but what about the PS4 consoles? I’ve been trying to purchase a PS5 for over a year to no avail. The console rollout is a disaster how scalpers where able to use bots to control and corner supply and set outrageous prices. This is a true failure on Sony’s part.
Try harder, I got 2 the first night no issue (for me and my friend)

Obsessed with Wordle? Here are 10 similar games to play – USA TODAY
— Recommendations are independently chosen by Reviewed’s editors. Purchases you make through our links may earn us a commission.
A few weeks ago, several of my friends started posting strange tweets that featured a grid of randomly colored blocks. Across the top of the tweet, it always said “Wordle” followed by several numbers. Eventually, curiosity got the best of me, and that’s how I discovered Wordle—the daily word puzzle that’s skyrocketed into popularity over the last few months.
If you’re not familiar with it, the concept is simple: You get six chances to guess the day’s five-letter word. After every guess, each letter you input is highlighted in a certain color. Gray means the letter isn’t in the puzzle word, yellow means the color is in the word but not in that spot and green means you put the right letter in the right spot. There’s a new puzzle available every day, and while the idea is basic, the game is strangely addicting.
The only real downside of Wordle is that you can only play once per day, so if you’re craving more brain-busting word puzzles, here are 10 similar word games that will hold you over until tomorrow, including IRL games like Boggle and Bananagrams.

If you thought to yourself, “Hm, Byrdle sounds just like Wordle,” that’s because it’s the exact same game. Yup, this self-proclaimed parody works exactly the same way as the original, giving you six attempts to guess the five-letter word of the day.
There are several other Wordle knock-offs, as well. For instance, there’s also Hello Wordl, which has the same concept but lets you choose how many letters the word has, ranging from four to 11. Additionally, you can play Hello Wordl as much as you want—there’s no daily limit.
If you enjoy Scrabble but wish it was a little bit faster, Bananagrams is the perfect alternative. In this award-winning game, each person races to create their own word grid using all their tiles. Once someone uses all their letters, they shout out “Peel!” and everyone is forced to take a new tile. The game continues like this until there are no tiles left, and the person who uses all their letters successfully is the winner. Bananagrams can be played with one to eight players, and it’s incredibly entertaining for all ages.
Get Bananagrams from Amazon for $14.99
As you become an anagram expert, be sure to try your hand Typeshift, a free word puzzle app. The concept is fairly unique: There are several columns of letters that you can shift up and down to create words in the central row. The goal is to use every letter in every column at least once, and there’s one puzzle available each day. Plus, the puzzles get progressively harder throughout the week.
Download Typeshift from the App Store
This one is a major throwback from my childhood—my brother and I used to play Boggle at our grandparent’s house. It’s a classic word search game that you can play alone or with a group. Basically, there are 16 letter cubes inside the base, and after shaking it up, you have 90 seconds to create as many words as you can using face-up letters on the grid. At the end of the round, you tally up your scores, but watch out—if two or more players find the same word, that word doesn’t count.
There are a few variations of Boggle available, as well, including Big Boggle and Super Big Boggle, both of which feature more letter cubes.
Get Boggle from Amazon for $11.97
There are plenty of apps that offer word games to play on your phone, and Wordscapes is a popular one. It’s essentially a hybrid between a crossword puzzle and an anagram—you get a number of random letters, and you have to create words to fill in the crossword puzzle spaces. Wordscapes is free to play, and there are more than 6,000 puzzles to work through, so it’s sure to keep you busy for a while.
Download Wordscapes from the App Store
Play Four is like a mini crossword puzzle that you complete in a four-by-four grid. There are eight different words you have to guess—four horizontal and four vertical—and you’re given a clue for each word. You’re scored on how many moves and how much time it takes you to finish the puzzle, and there are both regular and expert modes (the former highlights wrong letters on your grid). Similar to Wordle, there’s only one Play Four puzzle available per day.
Play Play Four at Merriam-Webster
Dabble is a fun spelling game that you can play with the whole family—it supports two to four players ages 8 and up. Each player gets 20 tiles, and it’s a race to create five words using your letters. However, you have to make one two-letter word, one three-letter word, one four-letter word, one five-letter word and one six-letter word. If no one uses up all their letters in five minutes, players are allowed to swap tiles for new ones, and scoring works similarly to Scrabble, with each letter earning certain points.
Get Dabble from Amazon for $29.95
Kitty Letter, which comes from the creators of the popular card game Exploding Kittens, provides a competitive twist on a classic anagram game. In the free app, you go head to head with another player, trying to create words using your letters. Each word you make unleashes an army of cats to battle your opponent—bigger words give you more cats—and the first person to destroy the opposing player’s house wins.
Download Kitty Letter from the App Store
You can keep your family busy on the go with Word Spin, a classic game that’s over 25 years old. It comes with eight magnetic wheels, each of which has 10 letters on it, and the goal is to spin, switch and re-arrange your wheels to create words—the longer and more complex, the better! It can be played by one or two people, and it’s compact enough to play on a car bus, or plane.
Get Word Spin from Amazon for $17.99
Spelling Bee is another word game that you can play right in your web browser. Each puzzle contains seven letters arranged in a honeycomb shape, and you have to make words using them. It’s not that simple, though—each word has to have at least four letters and must include the center letter, which is highlighted in yellow. You can use letters more than once, and you get points for each word you find, earning you a rank somewhere between “beginner” and “genius.”

How to turn on AMD's Smart Access Memory for faster gaming performance – PCWorld
AMD’s Smart Access Memory allows you to combine a Radeon RX 6000 series GPU with a Ryzen processor to unlock even more gaming performance—dramatically so, in some cases.
Before we show you how to enable Smart Access memory, we’ll discuss the hardware requirements. Next, we’ll walk you through how to configure your BIOS to activate SAM. And lastly, we’ll show you how to confirm it’s working. Let’s get smart! (And be sure to check out our explainer on how Smart Access Memory and the Nvidia-equivalent Resizable BAR work).
As per the recommended hardware above, best results will come from the RX 6000 series GPUs and Ryzen 5000 series CPUs. AMD did add select 3000 series CPUs to the mix, but you’ll still need a 500 series motherboard. If you have an Nvidia GPU or Intel CPU, Nvidia has their own version of Resizable BAR support. We’ll update this article to reflect any future guidance on hardware compatibility.
Note: I ran a test on an AMD 5700XT, a previous generation Radeon GPU. Smart Access Memory did show as “enabled” in the Radeon Software settings, but no conclusion as to any performance gain yet. Your mileage may vary.
If you have all the right hardware, flipping on Smart Access Memory only takes a couple of minutes, though it requires delving into your motherboard BIOS. Here’s how to do that:
If you follow the simple steps above, Smart Access Memory will be activated. The most important steps are enabling “Above 4G Decoding” and “Re-Size BAR support.” You’ll also want to make sure CSM is disabled, which is generally the default setting.
By using the latest version of the AMD Radeon Software, we can now confirm that Smart Access Memory is activated. Browse over to the Performance tab and open the Tuning panel. On this page, you’ll find “Smart Access Memory.” Here you can enable or disable the setting. This will give you confirmation that your trip to the BIOS was indeed successful. Have fun playing around with the extra gaming performance!
